Terms of Service

These terms cover the utilo.app website and the macOS applications Utilo distributes, including EdgeShelf. Using either means you accept them.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use our applications on Macs you own or control. You may not resell them, redistribute them, or attempt to defeat the licensing that separates the free and paid tiers.
The software stays ours. This licence gives you the right to use it, not ownership of it.
Beta software
EdgeShelf is in beta. It is offered as it is, it may contain defects, and its behaviour may change between builds. Keep your own backups of anything you care about.
Payment
Paid features are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Where a purchase is made through a third party, that party's own refund policy applies. Otherwise, write to us and we will deal with a refund request fairly.
Your files
Our applications work on files on your own Mac. What you put on a shelf, and what you do with it, is yours and stays yours. We claim no rights over it and receive no copy of it.
Third-party services
If you connect a Google or Dropbox account, your use of that service is governed by that provider's own terms, and your content is handled under their policies once it reaches them. We are not responsible for a third-party service being unavailable, changing, or removing content you stored there.
No warranty
The software is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or free of defects.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Utilo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the software. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us for it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Ending it
You may stop using the software and delete it at any time. We may end this licence if you breach these terms.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the software after that means you accept the revised terms.
